An Albanian immigrant was on the run today after shooting a female judge dead and killing a legal assistant with an axe in a row over housing benefit.
Isabella Brandon, a Belgium Judge of the Peace who specialised in family matters, and André Bellemans, died instantly from wounds to the head.

Belgian oikeussaliampumisesta epäilty pidätettiin
Belgian poliisi on pidättänyt eilisestä oikeussaliampumisesta epäillyn miehen.
Viranomaislähteiden mukaan pidätetty on 47-vuotias iranilainen. Ampumisen motiiviksi epäillään kostoa.
Poliisi pidätti miehen eilisiltana brysseliläisestä puistosta. Poliisi oli halunnut tarkistaa miehen henkilöllisyyden, mutta tämä alkoi ampua ilmaan. Poliisi haavoitti miestä pidätyksen yhteydessä.

Belgian police hunting a gunman who opened fire in a courtroom, shooting dead two officials, have arrested a man.
Justice of Peace Isabelle Brandon and her clerk Andre Bellemans were shot in the head on Thursday.
The arrested man is a 47-year-old Iranian who was detained in a Brussels park after several shots were fired into the air.
The arrest comes after a gunman opened fire while sitting in a civil court, in the annex of the city's vast Palais de Justice.
The tribunal had been hearing a family and neighbour dispute case when the shooting happened.
This has been a very dramatic incident, a catastrophe. It is a tragedy. I am very shocked by what has happened.

Belgian police hunting a gunman who opened fire in a courtroom, shooting dead two officials, have arrested a man.
Justice of Peace Isabelle Brandon and her clerk Andre Bellemans were shot in the head on Thursday.
The arrested man is a 47-year-old Iranian who was detained in a Brussels park after several shots were fired into the air.

The gunman listened to a routine mid-morning court hearing before pulling a gun, shooting the officials and escaping into the streets of Brussels.
The building is located near some of Brussels' main shopping streets.
Witnesses said the gunman was injured in a scuffle as he struggled to escape after the attack, but he still managed to flee on foot.
Belgium's justice minister Stefaan De Clerck admitted the incident proved that safety measures had failed in the court.
"This has been a very dramatic incident, a catastrophe. It is a tragedy. I am very shocked by what has happened," he said.
Following reports that the gunman was an angry defendant from an earlier hearing, a court official confirmed they were investigating all lines of inquiry.
"We have not ruled out family problems as the motive for what happened but nothing is clear at the moment," he said.
Federal interior minister Annemie Turtelboom said: "We are shocked and appalled. Everything possible is being done to catch the killer."
Court staff and lawyers have held a minute's silence in front of the Palais de Justice.
